Our way of building the future
We are embarking on a decade full of challenges and opportunities. Humanity is growing apace and with it the global need for food. As one of the leading agri-food companies in Spain and Europe, the Vall Companys Group knows that our mission today is to offer better nutrition for tomorrow: responsible, healthy, efficient and sustainable.
The Penta Programme is our way of achieving this: robust, achievable, and encompassing the whole value chain.

Five key pillars for action
The strategic lines of the Penta Programme are based on five specific vectors that cover every dimension of sustainability while at the same time adapting to the particular idiosyncrasies of the Vall Companys Group value chain.
Pillar 1
Climate and circularity
Pillar 2
Animal welfare
Pillar 3
People
Pillar 4
Quality, safety and innovation
Pillar 5

We were the first Spanish food company to reach its Scope 1, 2 and 3 greenhouse gas emission goals through the Science Based Targets initiative. And we did so by adhering to the most exhaustive version in line with the most ambitious Paris Agreement goal (1.5°C).
Aligned with the 2030 SDGs
Aware of the challenges facing us during this decade, the United Nations set out 17 basic guidelines for sustainable development at the global level. The Penta Programme covers 15 of these goals: almost all of them.
Preparation and materiality
The Penta Programme is the result of a 360º review process of all the activity of the Vall Companys Group and throughout our entire value chain.
