Cross-cutting, rigorous and collaborative
The Penta Programme is the result of a 360° review of all the Vall Companys Group’s activities across the whole of our value chain. It has involved professionals and experts from inside and outside our organisation, as well as representatives from stakeholder groups and certification bodies.
Materiality: identifying what is important
To identify the most important aspects of sustainability, for both the Group and our stakeholders, we conducted a materiality assessment. This process was undertaken following AccountAbility’s AA100 SES standard in accordance with the following phases.
1. Identification
To determine the areas of greatest general interest, the important issues were identified by a sectoral benchmarking study.
2. Prioritization
The material aspects were selected from a double analysis (internal and external) which allowed us to identify the degree of importance both for us and for our stakeholders.
3. Validation
The results were validated directly with the project managers.
Stakeholders
The stakeholders with which the organisation liaises in its regular business activities are as follows:
- Suppliers of raw materials
- Meat market clients
- Affiliated farmers
- Main competitors
- Public administration
- Banks and financial institutions
- Social organisations
