GO UP: Circular and Upcycling Strategies in the Agri-Food Sector
Objective: Develop technologies for the valorization and transformation of poultry slaughterhouse by-products into natural flavorings and functional compounds applicable to human nutrition.
Description:
- The aim is to reduce waste generated in poultry slaughterhouses through the application of upcycling processes.
- Using innovative technologies, these by-products will be transformed into functional ingredients with nutritional and sensory value.

GO RE2AQUA: Reduction and Reuse of Water in the Agri-Food Sector
Objective: Reduce water consumption in food processing plants through advanced purification systems and improvement of its properties.
Description:

- Different purification technologies will be tested to ensure that the water can be safely used for cleaning processing areas.
- This strategy will reduce the environmental impact of the industry and optimize the use of water resources.

AMINOPOULTRY: A Sustainable Approach to Reducing Nitrogen in Poultry Production
Objective: Optimize the nutrition of fast-growing chickens to reduce nitrogen load in excretions, improving their welfare and meat quality.

- The relationship between protein feeding and nitrogen reduction in excrement will be investigated.
- Improved nutritional formulations will be developed to decrease the incidence of diseases such as pododermatitis.
- By reducing nitrogen pollution, the project will contribute to environmental sustainability and the production of higher-quality food.
